Waste not, use again

In energy production, natural raw materials are used to make biogas. By utilizing raw materials from agriculture, forestry and households, we can create large amounts of renewable energy in the form of biogas and bio-CO₂. This contributes to a more sustainable economy. About 40% of the content of biogas becomes pure in the refining process. It is therefore important that we make use of this.

Secondary raw material treatment, a natural product

Biogas consists of methane and carbon dioxide (CO₂), and when the gas is upgraded, the CO₂ is separated. The CO₂ can then be captured and used instead of being released into the atmosphere. In this way, we can limit emissions of new greenhouse gases and reuse existing ones.

Food quality

Quality assurance is essential to guarantee that HOOP CO₂ meets customer requirements. After bio- is captured from the biogas plant, it is purified to the highest standards and assessed by a sensory panel. HOOP CO₂ is therefore 99.99% pure and of food and drink quality. This means it meets strict regulatory requirements.

Once CO₂ is captured and refined, it is stored in tanks for further export. The tanks are specially designed to keep CO₂ under pressure and at the right temperature to preserve its properties.

In order to reduce environmental impact and transportation costs, CO₂ from HOOP must be short-distance and close to the customer. This helps to reduce CO₂ emissions from transportation and ensures that the product reaches the customer quickly and cost-effectively.
